L.A. County Fair 2012 Discount and Free Ticket Deals
The 2012 Los Angeles County Fair runs Friday August 31 – September 30. Here are the top discount and free ticket deals available.
Once again I’ve compiled a list of days with discount admission tickets and special offers and coupons. It starts with Opening Day deals where it’s only $1 admission from 3pm-6pm, see details below. There’s no reason you cant save and have fun!
Did you know that the LA County Fair is one of the largest fairs in North America? If you’ve never attended, let me tell you…this one is HUGE!
For many people as summer ends, it’s a tradition to attend the LA County Fair in Pomona. At least it is for my wife and me and this year is no exception.
The month long fair consists of concerts, exhibit shows, rides and of course animals. Kids love the rides and everyone enjoys the food. Whether you want traditional deep fried “fair food” or perhaps a carne asada burrito from King Taco, I’m sure you’ll be happy by the end of the day.
This year there are many more options for discounted LA County Fair tickets than ever before. This year you have the option to save on opening day, but also throughout the month. Lots of online deals with great fair admission discounts.
Last year, my wife and I managed to get free admission tickets, free entrance to concerts and special deals on food. Did we miss out on anything by planning ahead? No, in fact we had so much fun doing it. So take advantage of these deals, because if you don’t others will.

LA County Fair Opening Day Deals for 2012
On Friday, August 31, 2012 (Opening Day of the LA County Fair) the Fair opens at 3 p.m.
$1 admission from 3-6 p.m.
$12 admission from 6 p.m.-midnight
$1 for 22-oz. soft drinks from 6-9 p.m.
$2 carnival rides from 6-9 p.m.
$2 games from 9-midnight
Note that the above prices are ONLY for opening day.
L.A. County Fair Opening Weekend Deals (Sat, Sun, Mon)
$1 admission 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
1 p.m. to closing $17 (ages 13+)
1 p.m. to closing $12 (ages 6-12)
LA County Fair deals
- Ralphs Any-Day Ticket
Starting August 20, 2012, participating Ralphs grocery stores will be selling adult admission tickets for $10 and $6 for ages 6-12, plus when you purchase your ticket at Ralphs, they will have an exclusive unlimited ride carnival wristband offer (purchase required, restrictions apply see store for full details on the “Any-Day” ticket offer). - All-You-Can-Ride Wednesdays
Each Wednesday get Fair admission and a carnival ride wristband for only $25! Purchase required and restrictions apply.
- Children
On Wednesdays through Friday, children ages 6-12 are admitted to the Fair for $7. And on weekends for $12. Ages 5 and younger are get in free every day!
- Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
September 8, 2012 is CHLA Day at the Fair. Get $8 admission if you purchase your ticket online at the CHLA website. CHLA Day tickets are only good for Sept 8, but you can purchase $10 adult and $6 children (ages 6-12) discounted admission ticket good any day of the Fair! One dollar of the purchase price gets donated back to the City of Hope.
- Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)
Purchase a ticket online with a special promotional code and the L.A. County Fair will donate $1 to the MDA, nice! Purchase your ticket here.
- City of Hope
Get up to 50% off ticket price if you purchase online with a special promotional code (COH4125) via the City of Hope website. One dollar of the purchase price gets donated back to the City of Hope.
- Los Angeles County Day
On Sunday, Sept. 9. Good for employees of Los Angeles County only. A Buy One-Get One free admission coupon for that day only will be available to all county employees. A special parade honoring Los Angeles County will take place at noon.
- Circus-Circus LA County Fair coupon
On Sunday September 9 & 16, 2012, use this coupon to get free child admission with each paid adult admission. Valid for Children ages 6-12. One coupon per offer, so if you have two adults and two kids you’ll need two of these coupons.
- Thoughtful Thursdays
Feel like donating to a good cause and getting free admission to the fair on a Thursday? On “Thoughtful Thursdays”, get one free admission from noon-6 p.m. with a donation of Goods, see schedule below.- Thursday, Sept. 6 – Book Drive, bring one new or gently used book
– Thursday, Sept. 13 – School Supply Drive, donate 3 new and unwrapped school supply items. Proceeds benefit United Way’s School Tools Program.
– Thursday, Sept. 20 – Shoe & Sock Drive, donate a NEW athletic shoes or packets of NEW socks for school-age children (size 10 youth to 12 adult). Proceeds benefit Shoes That Fit.
– Thursday, Sept. 27 – Book Drive
- $5 after 5pm

- Food Drive Fridays
Guests receive free Fair admission in exchange for five canned products on Fridays. Free admission good that day only , noon- 6 p.m. only.
- Seniors
Ages 60+ are admitted to the Fair FREE on Wednesdays with this coupon by the LANG newspapers.
- Weekend for Heroes
Friday Sept 7 through Sunday Sept. 9, active and retired military, reserves, police, fire and paramedics, with ID, plus one guest, can attend the Fair for $1 each!
- Costco Fair Savings Pack (Great deal for a family of 4)
Participating Costco stores will be selling sets of four (4) 2012 L.A. County Fair tickets, plus one parking pass and 44 RCS ride/game tickets for $54.99, now I’d say this is probably the best deal for a family of 4. Please note that NOT all LA Costco locations will be selling these tickets, see list of Costco stores selling LA County Fair tickets. Or you can buy it online at the Costco website.
- Discount days for specific Southern California College Students
College students, faculty and staff will get one free admission on their respective college day. Alumni get half-price admission on their respective day. Special Tip: Want free 2012 Los Angeles County Fair Concert tickets?
Most people are unaware of this, but a few free general admission tickets to the Grandstand End of Summer Concert Series at the L.A. County Fair are made available at the ticket kiosk located on Rose Lane at 3 p.m. on the day of the concerts. All are first come first served and each person requesting a free ticket must be present. Please note that concert tickets are separate from fair admission, you must still pay for admission to the fair.
